Privacy Policy

AskFrank is designed around local-first document review. This policy explains what data the app stores, what may be sent for text recognition or Frank review, and what AskFrank does not collect.

Last updated: June 26, 2026

Information You Provide

You may provide documents, document photos, PDFs, pasted text, extracted text, document names, reminders, and questions about a document. These are used to provide document previews, text recognition, Frank review, Q&A, vault records, and reminders.

Local Storage

The mobile app stores saved document records on your device using local storage. This can include document names, extracted text, summaries, flags, reminders, review details, and local file references.

AskFrank creates local database record IDs to organize records on the device. These IDs are not account identifiers and are not collected as identifying user data in the local-first app.

You can remove individual records in the app or clear local vault data from Profile.

Text Recognition And Frank Review

When you request text recognition, PDF extraction, review, or document-specific Q&A, AskFrank sends the content needed for that request to AskFrank's review service and configured AI provider. This may include document text, document images, PDF data, and your question.

AskFrank does not upload raw PDFs or photos for long-term storage in the current local-first app. Files and photos may be processed by the review service only when needed for text recognition, PDF extraction, review, or Q&A.

Do not upload documents you are not allowed to process with online services.

What AskFrank Does Not Collect

AskFrank does not collect identity documents, selfies, biometric data, verified-signing records, precise location, contacts, or microphone recordings in the current app.

The current app does not require a login, email address, account profile, cloud vault sync, payment account, analytics SDK, crash reporting SDK, or advertising identifier.

Bills And Sensitive Documents

Documents you choose to scan may contain billing, medical, employment, financial, or other sensitive information. AskFrank treats that content as user-provided document content and uses it only for the review flow you request.

Ads And Subscriptions

Ads and subscriptions are disabled in the submitted build. If a submitted build enables either one, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure must match that build before release.

Children

AskFrank is not intended for children under 13.
